Project Description

68 Strand on the Green

Location: Chiswick, London
Year: 2015
Client: Private

Adams + Collingwood Architects have completed another impeccable river side project. The work included a meticulous restoration of the 1720 original building, the introduction of a full width modern kitchen with open aspect onto the courtyard garden, the remodelling of the top floor into a stunning reception room with views over Kew Gardens and the conversion of the garage building on Thames Road into an entrance hall, garage and two studio bedrooms with integral kitchen and bathroom. The project demonstrates the practices unusual skill of being able to work in both historic restoration, state of the art contemporary and the ability to merge the two in a way that enhances the old and makes the best use of the new technology.

68 Strand on the Green features in our publication 25 Projects, celebrating our first 25 years of practice from 1992 to 2017. Find out more and read the book on our website here.
