We’re delighted to share a few early glimpses of a recently completed project in Kensington—a beautiful and sustainable refurbishment for a young family setting down roots in this vibrant part of London.
From the outset, the brief was to create a long-term family home that was both functional and future-proof. Planning sailed through without a hitch, and the transformation that followed included a double-storey front extension, a single-storey rear, and a side return—altogether adding over 25% to the usable floor area.
But this project isn’t just about space—it’s about smart, sustainable living. The home now benefits from discreetly integrated solar panels, an air-source heat pump, and a substantial battery back-up system, helping the family significantly reduce their reliance on the grid. It’s a great example of how thoughtful architectural design can support both lifestyle and sustainability goals.
At ABL3 Architects, we always love revisiting our projects—not just to admire the finished product, but to see how our clients are truly living in and enjoying the spaces we’ve helped bring to life. These photos are just a few snapshots from our recent visit, with a full professional shoot planned for later this year. Watch this space!
