The meaning behind our name:
In 2022, we marked three decades of architectural excellence, celebrating our 30th anniversary with a trail of awards and accolades illuminating our journey. As our practice evolves and strengthens, so does our pride in the projects and portfolio we’ve cultivated. Unwavering in our commitment to family values, we’re excited to unveil a new chapter with a name change. Welcome to ABL3:
A – Embodies the familial bond of Adams, a testament to our father-daughter partnership, Rob and Tamsin.
B – Pays homage to Tamsin’s married name, Bryant.
L – Resonates with our ancestral family name, Lemesle (pronounced Le-Mel), uniting us across generations.
3 – Represents our legacy as the third generation of architects, marking the third iteration of our practice since Rob founded it in 1992.

Our Journey
A tale of vision, collaboration, and a touch of family magic. In 1992 R L Adams Architects was founded by Robert Adams, the legacy continued to bloom when Robert Collingwood joined as a partner in 2002. This dynamic duo sculpted a powerhouse team, birthing the Adams + Collingwood ethos. In 2014, a new chapter unfolded as Tamsin Bryant, Robert Adams’ pragmatic daughter with a background in commercial architecture and project management, took the helm as director, infusing the practice with a fresh, vibrant energy. Experience the evolution, where tradition meets innovation, and family ties shape architectural brilliance.
